Special General Meeting


UPDATE

In support of MSB teams competing in Slush Cup in Edmonton on the weekend of March 1, the MSB Board has arranged an "Early Voting Station" on March 1st between 10:00am and 1:00pm at Past President, Patrick Lam's office [264, 3359 27 St. NE]

This is ONLY for Slush Cup participants and pre-registration is required to be eligible for early voting.

Pre-registration deadline is February 26, 2019 11:59pm MST. If you wish to preregister, please send an email to board@msbunited.com with your name, phone number, and the name of the player and team participating in Slush Cup.

The MSB United Soccer Club management has called a Special General Meeting to fill three interim board positions.

The position of Club President is up for renewal on March 1,  Vice President of Administration and Secretary are also both available.

We welcome any nominations to be put forth for these positions.  Advanced nomination deadline will be February 26, 2019 11:59pm MST.

When: Friday, March 1, 2019 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Where: UPSTAIRS - Large board room - Huntington Hills Community Association (520, 78 Ave NW)

**Please note, this is not our biannual AGM and therefore there will be no formal meeting or discussion of the club's annual report. The purpose of this SGM is to VOTE on these interim positions to fill them until the regulatory vote at our AGM in May 2019.

Who gets to vote?

As per MSB United's bylaws, there are two types of membership:

Playing Family Membership:

MSB Bylaws, Section 3.1.2 - A playing family member is a family having one or more individuals playing for a soccer team of the Club.

MSB Bylaws, Section 3.1.3 - A playing family member, if in good standing*, shall be entitled to one (1) vote at all meetings of the Club. The vote may be used only by one member of the family that is over 18 years of age. (Voting by Proxy is not permitted)

Associate Membership:

MSB Bylaws, Section 3.1.4 - An associate member is a coach or manager of any soccer team of the Club, as well as any person demonstrating an interest in the Club who is asked by the Board of Directors to join and who accepts membership in the Club, will not be required to pay membership dues but will comply with all other requirements of a member.

MSB Bylaws, Section 3.1.5 - An associate member, if in good standing*, shall be entitled to one (1) vote at all meetings of the Club. (Voting by Proxy is not permitted)

*A member shall be in good standing by ensuring they are not in arrears with annual dues requirements or registration fees. The Board of Directors shall set the annual dues payable by a family member and an associate member. The Board of Directors at its discretion may grant relief from dues requirements.
