Player Parent/Guardian Guidelines

MSB United Soccer Club, in consultation with Calgary Minor Soccer Association, Alberta Soccer Association, Canada Soccer and Alberta Health Services, continues to monitor the most recent developments surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

To support our game moving forward and taking into consideration the most up to date information and recommendations, as a PARENT/GUARDIAN the following guidelines are required for a phased-in Return to Soccer.

SOCCER TRAINING COVID-19 HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES

The following information provides the health and safety precautions that must be followed to ensure the reduction of exposure and/or spread of Covid-19 during your players soccer training.

You as a PARENT/GUARDIAN, are required to provide verbal confirmation as per a “COVID-19 symptoms checklist” to ensure the player is not experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19. If a player is exhibiting symptoms related to COVID-19, they must be sent home immediately. If a player is experiencing symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose or sore throat, they are legally obligated to self-isolate.

As per the CMSA Declaration of Compliance you have completed, your player is NOT permitted to return to training for 14 days from the day they last experienced symptoms.

You as a PARENT/GUARDIAN, will be required complete the following tasks online:
Common sense and the Rule of Two (keeping 2 meter distancing) will keep everyone safe as we start to enjoy outdoor soccer again and have FUN!
REGISTRATION
In order to practice or train with an MSB United team, all players must be registered for “Outdoor Soccer”. If you haven't done so, please register.
WAIVERS & DECLARATION
All Players must sign the Informed Consent – Assumption of Risk Waiver plus provide a Declaration of Compliance prior to participating in any sanctioned soccer activity (this includes practices).

This will be sent via CMSA with Goalline directly to your registered player. You can also access these waivers here:

Although exposure to COVID-19 is unlikely, it is possible.  By participating voluntarily in Alberta Soccer activities, you acknowledge that you are assuming the risk of exposure by playing.

SCHEDULING AND EVENT MANAGEMENT

Activities will be scheduled via TeamSnap and it is very important to access your team events and update your attendance accurately.

Players must arrive dressed for training & immediately depart at the end of training.
PARTICIPATION

**UPDATE** June 17 ALL age groups may now participate.

Participants must be able to understand and adhere to the social distancing measures and recommendations issued by Alberta Health Services.

Vulnerable persons, such as older adults, individuals with underlying medical conditions, and/or are at risk due a compromised immune system must NOT participate.

PARENTS, GUARDIANS & CARPOOLING

Parents/Guardians must drop off & pick-up their child at the fields. For safety reasons, parents may be asked to remain nearby in vehicles and/or designated areas. Designated areas must adhere to group size and social distancing guidelines. PLEASE USE COMMON SENSE.

Contact tracing information must be maintained for attending parent/guardians as well as participants. There will be a team log sheet that must be completed at the field with your coach/manager.

Players should only carpool with individuals from their household or cohort family.

SPECTATORS

Spectators are not allowed on the playing field and must maintain safe social distancing.

We understand that we enjoy this time with other parents/guardians, however please use caution and adhere to the safety protocols issued by the Government of Alberta.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING IN SOCCER TRAINING

**UPDATE June 17** Scrimmages are now allowed.

Always maintain and help physical distancing requirements between coaches, players, and parents/guardians.

It is recommended that only one parent/guardian drop-off and pick-up their child/player.

USE OF EQUIPMENT IN TRAINING

MSB United will provide EACH player his/her own soccer ball to keep and bring to each session. (It is recommended to label their ball)

**UPDATE - JUNE 17** Keepers may touch/stop the ball with their body, however must refrain from spitting on their gloves or touching their face with their gloves.

**UPDATE - JUNE 17** Any equipment that is shared and/or handled by hand, head, or chest should be clean and sanitized both before and after every session.

Participants soccer shoes must be disinfected prior to removal.

Sanitize: Clean and disinfect your players equipment prior to and after every session.

CONTACT TRACING
IMPORTANT!

Contact tracing logs must be completed for EVERY training session. This will be maintained in your TeamSnap using the event attendance. This must be kept accurate.

HEALTH CHECKS

Verbal health checks for symptoms must be completed prior to every training session. Please review the following document and familiarize yourself with its contents.
